Forfar Galvanisers was founded in 2000 and has a staff of 18 uses a number of environmental systems unique in the galvanising industry. We pride ourselves on being industrial efficiency, without impacting the environment which is very important to our promise of being environmentally friendly.
The company is run by town engineering company David Ritchie (Implements) Ltd. Jim Walt Richie (the founding member), had been using other vendors in and around the industry prior to the venture which led him to establish many problems with both quality and time, and was told "if you don't like it, do it yourself!" So he did.
They created a plant with an automated system aimed at cutting the risk of handling damage and providing a constant flow of material throughout the process. The firm's galvanising bath, at 5.5 metres long, 1.5 metres wide and 2.8 metres deep, is the widest in Scotland.
